The Herzdamen Festival - Play like a Queen. Win like a Queen. Act like a Queen.

The Herzdamen Festival hosted by Grand Casino As in the Czech Republic was the Herzdamen’s first live festival and boasted over a 60K EUR guarantee.  The festival was open to all but focused on the females and offered special activities for the Herzdamen Club members.  30 Herzdamen ventured from Austria, Germany and Switzerland to the Czech Republic for this multi-day festival. The Herzdamen had played and studied together since 2019 but this was the first opportunity for the members to meet each other outside of Zoom. The Herzdamen was founded by Natalie Hof and Mila Monroe with the goal to connect female poker players and offer a community for female poker players. They meet weekly and offer both a German and English study session. During corona, they hosted three Queen of Queens online poker leagues and have crowned 3 champions. In August, the Herzdamen were able to host their first live event, the Herzdamen Festival.

The festival kicked off on Thursday, August 12th with a 60EUR Opener Event.  This event attracted 98 players and 45 re-entries generating a prize pool of 7,772EURO.

Friday started with a 50EUR Queen’s Turbo and it was “Minnie mouse” who outlasted the 32-player field to take home the trophy.  On Friday evening, the 250EUR Royal Class, High Roller Event, attracted 94 entries and surpassed its 10K guarantee, generating a Prize pool of 21,620EUR. In a four-way deal, Marc Gork was named the winner and took home 4,020EUR for the win.  Those with a smaller bankroll could play the 70EUR Queens Bounty Event Friday Evening. Michaela Evans, was able to outlast the 165 player field (129 +36 re-entries) to win the event and the beautiful heart shaped trophy.

The highlight of the series was the 150EUR Queens Cup which boasted a 50K starting stack, 25-minute levels and a 30K guarantee. The Queens Cup had 225 entries along with 91 re-entries to generated a prize pool of 43,065EUR.  The Queens Cup, the Main Event of the festival, had 31 female players and 197 males whereby females composed 14% of the field.  (It is well known in the poker world, that the WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas has less than 3% females in the field.) The Queens Cup also ended in a 4-way deal and “Shorty82” was the winner and took home 5,982 EURO for the win.  “Minnie mouse” was knocked out in 5th place, making her the Last Woman Standing.

On Sunday, the Herzdamen held a private brunch and “Meet the Pros” event featuring Felix Schneiders and Jan Heitmann.  After Jan entertained the crowd with a few magic tricks, he and Felix had one on one with the Herzdamen to discuss key hands and answer poker theory questions.  The ladies then played the Queens Tea Time and there were 30 entries and 16 were female.  Mila Monroe, Herzdamen co-founder placed 4th in this event and “Carmelo” was the winner.

The final event of the series was the Dealer’s Choice event and “Wendy” was the nest placed female in 2nd place.  Vlogger Christin Maschmann cashed in 6th place.

The Herzdamen will host a second Festival, all details will be published on their homepage once available.
